Strausburg

Thanksgiving weekend we took off for Strausburg--a city in the Alsace region of France that's famous for its Christmas markets.  It was CUTE!

Look who the kids found...a street performer!

It's amazing how the entire town joins in on the over-the-top Christmas decorations!  Several of the little side roads had themes.

After strolling around most of the morning, we ran into our buddy, Henry!  We had a traditional Alsacean lunch at a nearby restaurant.  Their specialty was a made to order potato dish that you could put almost anything in--goat cheese, mushroom, honey, tomato, ham, beef, sausage, veggies...

Love the little pigs sledding at this deli. 🐽

If you love crowds, then go to Strausburg the first weekend they open the market.  😁

The theme country this year was Belgium, which meant lots of stands selling Belgian waffles, fries, gingerbread and chocolate.  We each got a waffle with chocolate and whipped cream one night.  So good!
